We recommended booking via Booking.com or Airbnb
Anti-malaria tablets - Start taking them before you arrive
Mini Fan - Accra is hot & humid so this is a life-saver.
Mosquito Repellent - Bring some, but we recommended purchasing a local repellent from a nearby pharmacy in Accra (Medisoft or HiBaby brand). They are effective, yet won't have you smelling like nail polish remover.
Immodium / Activated Charcoal - Very helpful for our weak western stomachs.
